The Pandora Trilogy Complete Box Set eBook Kathryn Lance

A science-oriented, character-driven adventure/romance, The Pandora's Trilogy has been described as "post-apocalypse done right." The series opens with Pandora's Genes, in which Zach, a good man in a dangerous world, is sent to fetch the beautiful young Evvy for The Principal, the charismatic but flawed leader of a struggling post-apocalyptic society. But when Evvy saves Zach’s life he realizes he cannot carry out his mission and must turn his back on all he has ever believed and worked for. In 1986, Locus raved that Pandora’s Genes “has a plot Shakespeare would have loved." Named Locus Recommended List and Best New Science Fiction, Romance Times, 1986. Pandora's Children, the second book, features thrilling adventures as Zach tries to save Evvy from certain death, as well as a murder mystery that threatens the Principal's civilization; while Pandora's Promise, the final book, continues the adventures of the three protagonists, while introducing new characters, including a group of irresistible empathic elephants. The unusual love triangle at the heart of the story takes on new meaning as the Principal’s fledgling civilization faces unprecedented threats from nature as well as from within.
Now all three books in The Pandora's Trilogy are gathered together in one ebook package. Perfect for binge-reading, this thrilling and thought-provoking story will keep you guessing up until the satisfying ending. Bonus material in this edition includes never-before-published scenes from the Pandora's world before The Principal became leader of the District, as well as answers to FAQ's and the Easter eggs the author has hidden for discerning readers.

While it took me a bit to get into the story, I found it very interesting. Parts of it seemed to drone on a bit long, but, for the most part, I enjoyed the trilogy. It is interesting how Lanc sees the world after a major catastrophe. The Pros in the Western West was funny to me, although concerning for one of our main characters. The Garden is an interesting concept, but not surprising. I do wish Lanc would have written that Evvy revealed one particular finding to her readers and how that knowledge affected Zach. Still, all in all, not a bad read.Product details

The Pandora Trilogy Complete Box Set eBook Kathryn Lance Reviews
At first I was reluctant to read this because KL is a close friend and science fiction is not my favorite genre. I need not have worried, Pandora is a wonderful adventure story. I found the futuristic timeline plausible and the characters, appealing. Bottom line a good read.
I started reading this triology while I was recuperating from a serious illness. Normally, I'm not a fan of sic fi and fantasy, but once I started readingI couldn't put it down.
Kathryn Lance keeps Sci Fi literature's golden age alive. Analog captured my sentiment exactly "Kathryn Lance paints beautiful word-pictures and has a fantastic sense for emotional truth. This is one trilogy that starts good and gets better with each book; Pandora’s Promise is the best."
Not sure if our current political scene leads to a post-apocalyptic world, but just in case, you'll be glad you checked out the Pandora Trilogy beforehand.
I’m not very good at writing reviews, but I felt I had to write something because, even though I generally don’t like post-apocalypse stories, I really loved this one. The third book adds a great and surprising conclusion to the original first two books and is by far the best thing the author has written. The addition of the extra material in the “boxed set” adds more background to the story. Because of this, the expense for the set was well worth it even though I already owed separate copies of all three books.
Pandora's Promise was a completely satisfying conclusion to the trilogy, so I didn't expect the box set's extra material to add more than interesting details. However, it deepened my understanding of the characters and their motivations so much that I'm going to re-read all three books.
I loved these books the first time I read them. I love them more the second time because the bonus material adds so much to understanding the 2 major male characters. As always with Ms Lance's writing, I want more time with the characters, more time to be lost in the story. The writing is superb; the characters are so real & true I want to invite them to dinner & pick their brains. The animals are always welcome & I would adopt any or all of them. As to the storyline, it could be ripped from tomorrow's headlines if we are not careful. Kathryn Lance is an old & dear friend who happens to write exceptionally good books.
